Today we learned about the Order of Operations. I learned that there is a certain way of calculating an equation involving several different signs (eg. adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, etc.) It is called BEDMAS. Which stands for




B: Brackets ( )


E: Exponents


D: Division

(Division and multiplication order from left to right)


M: Multiplication


A: Addition

(Addition and subtraction order from left to right)


S: Subtraction



3. Create a problem that could be solved using the following expression.

2.5 + 1.25 + 5 x 1.6= 11.75



Bob went to the store and saw 5 video games that he liked they were $1.60 each,
then he saw 2 different kinds of chocolate bars one of them costs $2.50 and the other one costs $1.25. how much money did he spend?


Answer: $11.75.
